Hi guys,

I like what you've done with the website. It looks a lot cooler. How are things going with the team?

Iraq sucks, but not nearly as bad as it did last time I was here. I'm living in a nice little "containerized housing unit" which is a fancy name for a trailer, so I'm trailer trash now. I'm going to get an old refrigerator and some other junk to spruce things up outside. The food is good, so I'm going to have to hit the gym regularly to stay even close to rugby shape.

It doesn't look like I'm going have any opportunity to throw a rugby ball around here, but I'm going to keep myself in shape so I can play some when I get back. Even at my age, I still think there's some gas left in the tank. I played some soccer while at Ft. Bragg and all that did was fire me up to play some more rugby because soccer is really a pussy sport. In one game, I drew four penalties for "rough play," knocked one guy out of the game (his achilles got in the way my foot - that's his fault), and dazed another guy for a few minutes with a head butt (I was going for the ball, I'm just not any good at that header stuff). Of course, since my head is made of rock, it didn't bother me, but it reinforced the fact that I should be playing rugby, not wimpy soccer. While I may not be a good rugby player, I'm a freakin' lousy soccer player.

Keep up the good work, kick some butt this next season, and I'll see you when I get back.

Good to here from ya man. Any idea if your be back for any games this (spring) season? And what you didn't take a ball with you this time?

I didn't have room to pack a ball and I figured I would just order a new one online and have it shipped here. The problem is, there's no place to play - this place lacks grass. There's also a shortage of potential players. I'll see if I can at least put together a touch game (or maybe a sevens game if I can find enough grass in one spot).
